Timothy J. Thornton 1963-2024

Tim was born June 3, 1963, in Warren, a son of the late Duane and Gladys Thornton.

He was a graduate of Maplewood High School. After high school, he joined the United States Marines and proudly served his country until his honorable discharge. He worked as a boxer at Lincoln Electric in Cleveland for 25 years.

He was a life member of VFW West Farmington, Penn-Ohio Model A Club, Penn-Ohio Antique Truck Club of America in Trumbull County, Antique Tractor Club, Moose Lodge No. 1012 and American Legion. He also enjoyed going to auctions and traveling.

Tim will be deeply missed by his fiancee, Coleen West; stepchildren, Abigail West and Samuel West; niece, Cheyenne (Tom Weeks) Thornton; great-niece, Addison Weeks; nephew, Scott Thornton; and numerous extended family.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gregory Thornton; and sister, Diane Thornton.

Family and friends may visit from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2024, at Lane Family Funeral Homes Shafer-Winans Chapel located at 164 N. High St., Cortland. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024, at the funeral home.

Burial will take place in West Mecca Cemetery.
