Susan M. Flack 1959-2023

Sue was born July 26, 1959, the daughter of Myron Eugene Flack and Verna Lucker Flack of Warren, both deceased.

Sue was fun, funny, brilliant and beautiful. Her energy was palpable and contagious. Her interests spanned all manner of physical and cerebral activities: she had a passion for science, music, dance and traveling; and she loved the outdoors, people and food- especially chocolate, pasta and craft beer. Her dear friends were her family and her dogs, Molly and Paco, brought her joy.

Susan had an impressive professional life. Sue received her Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, biology and economics from Case Western Reserve University and Master of Science degree in clinical studies from Cleveland State University. Her primary focus was assessing community and environmental health of historically contaminated sites and their proximity. Her work was concentrated in risk management, public health and safety, remediation, redevelopment and permitting, preparation of expert opinions on exposure assessment, management of historical operations reviews, dose reconstruction studies, community involvement programs and GIS data management.

Susan will be missed by close friends, her care partners and colleagues. Those wishing to memorialize Sue, please contribute to your local animal rescue group or the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, theaftd.org. Take care of each other.

A private burial will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024, at the Sager Memorial Cemetery, 1864 Greenville Road, Bristolville, OH 44402.
