Sandra Lewis 1936-2024

She was born Oct. 26, 1936, at her home in Altoona, Pa., to the late George and Verna Wells Houtz.

Sandra was a loving and caring wife, mother, companion, grandmother and great-grandmother who always enjoyed spending time with her family. She was married to Walter E. Lewis for 30 years. She worked at the GE Ohio Lamp Plant until her retirement in 1999 after 30 years on the line. She was a member of Central Baptist Church for the past 12 years. When not helping with her church family she enjoyed volunteering at St. Joseph Warren Hospital for 12 years. She was always known as a caring person and would help anyone with anything they needed. She always wanted to let everyone know that “God Loves You.”

Sandy loved painting, traveling and talking on the phone with her friends and family, and she would challenge anyone to a game of Scrabble and probably win. She also loved playing Rummikub with anyone that wanted to play.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter E. Lewis; siblings, George Houtz Jr., Betty McClosky, Dorothy Mae Adams and James Barry Houtz.

She is survived by her longtime companion, Bill Winner; children, Deborah “Debbie” (Mac) McClain, Carol Gommels and Jeffery C. (Ludonna) Fein; grandchildren, Stacy (Mike) Wonfor, Andy Huncherick, Edward “Eddie” (Laurel) Huncherick, Bryan (Stephanie) Huncherick, Philip (Tarah) Gommels, Katrina (Buck) Havens, Stephanie Fein and Mary Cochran; step-grandson, Jarrod (Katie) McNutt; great-grandchildren, Blake, Blaine, Erica, Kayla, Braylee, Julian, Gabby, Summer, Peter, Jack, Charlotte, Atticus and Zayla.

Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, at Lane Funeral Home, Roberts-Clark Chapel 180 Garfield Drive NE, Warren, OH 44483.

A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, 2024, at Lane Funeral Home, Roberts-Clark Chapel.

Interment will be held in Pineview Memorial Park.
