Larry L. Stephany Sr. 1945-2024

Larry was born April 12, 1945, in Los Angeles, California, a son of Louis J. and Mildred C. Sloan Stephany.

He was a 1962 graduate of Timber Township High School in Glasford, Illinois.

He worked for 35 years in the shipping and receiving department at Linde Hydraulics Corporation.

He enjoyed going to his grandson Brandon’s football games, going out to dinner and doing crossword puzzles. He also loved spending time with his family, especially during the holidays.

Larry was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War and was a member of Girard VFW Post 419.

His wife, the former Shirley E. Waltman, whom he married Dec. 8, 1964, passed away Dec. 29, 2011.

He will be deeply missed by his family including his daughter, Pamela (Art) Fisher of Girard; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; and son, Larry Stephany Jr.

Services will be 4 p.m., with calling hours from 3 to 4 p.m., prior to the service Saturday at Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home.

Larry will be laid to rest next to his wife in North Jackson Cemetery.
