Gary S. Kiselka Sr. 1953-2024
CORTLAND — Gary S. Kiselka Sr., 71, formerly of Franklin, Pa., passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2024 at St. Joseph Warren Hospital.
The son of Walter J. and Darlene E. Heron Kiselka, Gary was born on Feb. 17, 1953, in Pittsburgh.
Gary was a graduate of Franklin High School. For years, he was known as a mechanic in Venango County at G & G Garage and Cook’s Mobile Service Station. After moving to Ohio, he established a successful produce stand, Gary K.’s Produce, which he ran for over 15 years.
He married his wife, the former Tammy Sue Manes, on Aug. 5, 2000, and she survives.
Gary was a collector of all things. His children remember him as an avid auction attendee and an animal lover. He is fondly remembered as a jack of all trades and master of none, loved by lots and hated by many.
What Gary leaves behind is the fact that he loved his family dearly. He was a caring husband and father and always made sure he gave the best advice — even if it wasn’t what they wanted to hear.
Gary is survived by his wife, Tammy Kiselka of Cortland; his children, Terra (Rick) Anderson of Grove City, Pa., Tracy Kiselka of Franklin, Pa., Tanya “Peewee” (Andy) Wood of Warren, Gary (Beki) Kiselka Jr. of Franklin and Preston “Bud” (Beth) Guisewite, also of Franklin, Pa., Jesse Kiselka and Brittany Kiselka, both of Cortland.
Also surviving are two siblings, Penny Krug of Columbus and Don Kiselka of Franklin. Additionally left to remember Gary are his nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; many loved nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, Bella.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Walter J. and Darlene E. Kiselka; a special father-in-law, John Manes; and an infant granddaughter, Kyrsha Ross.
Services will take place 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, at Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 W. Park St., Franklin, Pa.
Interment will follow directly after the visitation in Peters Cemetery.
Per Gary’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. He had a special request for those who will be attending his visitation. Gary’s words were. “Come as I knew you, in jeans and a T-shirt… and if you do come dressed up, you never truly knew me.”
