Carolyn J. Rossi Radich 1943-2024

WARREN — Carolyn J. Rossi Radich passed away Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024, at Shepherd of the Valley, surrounded by her family.

She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Carol will be remembered as her family’s rock, a steady and strong source of support, encouragement and unconditional love.

Carol was born Aug. 25, 1943, in Warren, to the late Peter P. and Jennie D. Miele Rossi. She was a 1961 graduate of Saint Cyril Academy in Danville, Pa. Following graduation, Carol returned to Warren, where she met Richard, her husband of 60 years.

Carol had a natural knack for homemaking, hosting and making friends, family and strangers feel loved and welcome. Her greatest passion in life was spending time with her family and close friends. She hosted holidays, special occasions, regular card nights and Rosary club with friends, and made new friends everywhere she went. She was a decadeslong member of St. James Church in Warren and prayed for her loved ones daily.

Carol leaves behind her husband, Richard L. Radich Sr.; three children, Rick (Cindy) Radich of Cortland, Alysa Whisler of Warren and Michael Radich, also of Warren; five grandchildren, Sam (Mae) Radich of Warren, Michaella (Michael) Brenkus of Columbus, David-Brian (Aimee) Whisler of Clayton, North Carolina, Jordan Radich of Phoenix, Arizona, and Alivia Whisler of Warren; one great-granddaughter, Clara June Radich of Warren; a brother, Peter Rossi Jr. of Warren; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Kopp of Warren; and her cherished extended family and friends. She also leaves behind Graceann Allen Tompkins, whom Carol considered a daughter and friend.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her sisters, Cynthia Lockney and Sandra Luscher; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Samuel and Elsie Radich; a sister-in-law, Mary Rossi; three brothers-in-law, Bob Luscher, Nick Radich and Kenneth Kopp; her son-in-law, Dave Whisler; and several lifelong friends. Carol’s family would like to thank the staff at Shepherd of the Valley Howland, for their wonderful care and friendship over the last three years.

Carol’s family and friends celebrated her life with private services this week, led by the Rev. Christopher Cicero. She is buried in All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta.

In memory of Carol’s generous heart, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or the Fairhaven Summer Enrichment Program for Handicapped Children, 2202 Niles Cortland Road, Cortland, OH 44410.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Road NE, Warren, OH 44483.
