Theresa E. Sikes 1929-2024

She was born May 20, 1929, to Patsy and Michelena Ianniizzaro Salvato. A lifelong resident of Warren, she graduated in 1947 from Warren G. Harding High School, where she was a cheerleader and belonged to several organizations.

On May 10, 1952, she married her husband, Lee J. Sikes. They enjoyed 65 years together.

Theresa was an avid reader and would never pass up a crossword puzzle. She enjoyed knitting and cooking, and loved hosting big Italian Christmas dinners. She loved being with her family, had a great sense of humor and loved to talk.

She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church all of her life, until its closure. Theresa also volunteered at the St. Vincent de Paul soup kitchen and with the bereavement committee. She was a bingo helper and part of the 500 card club.

Theresa is survived by her children, Leslie Albani and Lorraine Trina; daughter-in-law, Dena Sikes; 10 grandchildren, Rebecca (Rick) Whitacker, Jeremy (Joanna) Albani, Leah (Noah) Gilger, Rachel (Brandon) Lenzmier, Gina Albani, Tyler Trina, Mekenzie Trina, Jackie (Joel) Davis, Alexa Sikes and Erik Sikes; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Gloria Hart; and her special nieces and nephews, who couldn’t do enough for their Aunt Tre. She will also be missed by two special neighbors, Lisa and Dan, who helped care for her.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Lenny; two sons-in-law, Gerry Albani and Paul Trina; two brothers, Santa and Richie; three sisters, Louise, Joanne and Francie; nieces, Mary Jo and Michele; and nephews, Bobby and Tommy.

No services are scheduled.

A private family gathering will be at a later date.
