SARASOTA, Fla. — Robert “Bob” Davies Lynn, 95, passed away on Friday, Aug. 2, 2024, with his family at his side at his home in Sarasota, Florida.

Bob was born Nov.18, 1928, in Warren, to parents Charlene Davies Lynn and Holmes Wasson Lynn.

He attended Warren G. Harding High School until the 10th grade then graduated from Manlius Military Academy in 1947. He attended Wittenberg University and graduated with a business degree. During his junior year, he married Coralyn Burgess Lynn of Geneva, Ohio, on Dec. 16, 1950, during a 27-inch snowstorm.

He moved to Youngstown and worked for McKay Machine. In 1960, he moved back to Warren and worked as a sales engineer at Wean Engineering. He partnered with a friend and built a fabricating plant, Roherer Industries in North Lima.

Bob was a member of the Exchange Club, later named the Howland Rotary International, where he was voted Rotarian of the Year in 1991. He joined the Buckeye Club of Warren in 1960 and spent many years involved with their annual fish fry. As a 60-year member of the Trumbull Country Club, he enjoyed playing tennis, golf and swimming.

Bob was an avid outdoorsman. From a young age, he hunted ducks, pheasant and deer, and fished with his dad. He maintained his interest in hunting and fishing all his life. He spent 22 years hunting big game in Wyoming, Colorado and Montana. Bob holds a Boone and Crockett hunting record for a moose that was harvested in Wyoming.

Bob’s travels took him to various countries. His favorite was Africa. He enjoyed seeing the animals in their natural habitat. Bob loved to fish. He fished all over North America, from Canada to Mexico, from Chesapeake Bay to Hawaii and Alaska. His favorite fishing was on Lake Erie.

After retiring, he and his wife of 69 years, spent their time between Sarasota, Florida, and Ashtabula. He and Coralyn designed their dream home overlooking the boat club on the banks of Lake Erie. His boat “Final Decision” caught hundreds of perch and walleye. He and Coralyn made many memorable fish dinners for friends and family.

Bob was a beloved family man and friend to many. His universe centered around his family and he and Coralyn were blessed with wonderful friends. He was called a “Mr. Fix-it” because he had a talent for being able to engineer and repair anything, no matter how big or small the job was. His workbench was the most equipped place in the house.
