Michael D. Mendenhall 1946-2024

WARREN — Michael “Mickey” Dean Mendenhall, 78, of Warren, passed away peacefully with his family by his side Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2024, at The Arbors at Fairlawn.

He was born July 10, 1946, in Warren, a son of the late Wayne E. Hardman and the late Dorothy L. Mendenhall Hardman.

He was a graduate of Leavittsburg High School and worked as a steelworker at Thomas Steel for over 30 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Europe during the Vietnam War.

Mickey enjoyed golfing, bowling and playing pool at the NAUS Club. He liked watching sports on TV, including golf, the Browns, Indians and Ohio State Buckeyes. Michael was known for his sense of humor, and truly enjoyed spending time with his family.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, Brian (Dillon Lowe) Mendenhall of Wadsworth; brother, Wayne “Junior” (Lisa) Hardman of Johnson City, Tennessee; sister, Cheryl (Scott) Rupert of Champion; brother, Alan (Holly) Hardman of Cortland; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved wife of 42 years, Linda L. Mendenhall.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.

Friends and family may gather from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, at the funeral home.

He will be laid to rest next to his wife in Pineview Memorial Park, Warren.
