Larry Verhosek 1945-2024

Larry was born and raised in Niles, the son of the late Edward and Florence Lazzio Verhosek.

He was a 1963 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, and was a highly honored and decorated United States Air Force Veteran of 20 years.

Larry is survived by his son, William (Rhoda) Verhosek; his two grandchildren, Edward and Dasha of Lake Wylie, South Carolina; his daughter, Lynne Verhosek of North Charleston, South Carolina; two sisters, Gloria Lucente and Linda Verhosek; and a nephew, Jonathan Butler, all of Niles.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lan; his youngest daughter, Jill Verhosek; and his brother, Edward Verhosek.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2024, at Simplicity Funeral Home in North Charleston.

Burial for Larry, with full military honors, will be in Fort Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia, South Carolina.

Local arrangements were handled by the Joseph Rossi and Son Funeral Home in Niles.
