Jean R. Miller 1934-2024

Together again

HOWLAND – Jean R. Miller, 90, passed away on Tuesday evening, Sept. 17, 2024, at home, with her family by her side.

Jean was born June 2, 1934, in Norfolk, England, a daughter of Thomas and Florence Barker Carter.

On April 30, 1955, Jean married the love of her life, Mike F. Miller, a young United States Airman stationed in England. The two shared 67 wonderful years of marriage until Mike’s passing in 2022, and now they are reunited again.

After Mike was discharged from service, the couple came to the United States, settling in Warren. In addition to being a proud homemaker, Jean proudly earned a GED and became a United States citizen. She enjoyed knitting and watching John Wayne movies. Jean was also very active in her faith community at St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church. Above all, she cherished her family. Her love for them was pure without judgment. Jean was a beautiful, kind soul whose presence will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Jean will be deeply missed by her son, Stephen (Noeleen) Miller of Niles; two daughters, Jeanine Miller of Howland and Barbara (Brian) DeLung of Mecca; two grandchildren, Corey (Whitney) Miller and Maura (Michael) Dutton; three great-grandchildren, Layken Miller and Grace and Patrick Dutton; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mike F. Miller; brother, Thomas Carter; and sister, Marian McNulty.

Family and friends may pay their respects from 10 to 11 a.m., with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024, at St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, Warren.

Interment will be in Pineview Memorial Park.
