Linda F. Neiheisel 1951-2024

NEWTON FALLS — Linda F. Neiheisel, 73, peacefully transitioned to eternal rest, Sunday, Sept. 22, 2024, at her home.

Born on April 13, 1951, in Warren, she was the beloved daughter of the late Homer Edward Smith and Margaret Gertrude Fortner Smith.

Linda spent her entire life in Newton Falls and graduated from Newton Falls High School in the Class of 1969. She dedicated 28 years of her career to Delphi Packard Electric, retiring in 2003.

Linda was a member of Newton Falls American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 236, the Newton Falls VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 3332 and the Order of the Eastern Star (OES) Newton Falls Chapter 79. She also served as a committee member for the Boy Scouts of America.

Linda had a passion for cooking, reading and baking, and she cherished her family history. A true sports enthusiast, she was especially fond of The Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Guardians. Linda was a caring and religious person who deeply loved her children and grandchildren, as well as her pets, particularly her dog, “Tanner.” She was known for her caregiving spirit and her strong Republican values.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by one brother, James Smith.

Linda is survived by her daughter, Laura Neiheisel of Newton Falls; her son, Matthew and Kathleen Neiheisel of Newton Falls; her brother, Daniel Sr. and Candace Smith of Newton Falls; her two grandchildren, Lydia McGuigan and Madelynn Neiheisel; and many nieces, nephews and cousins, whom she loved dearly.

In honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024, at FWD Church, 20 W. Quarry St., Newton Falls, OH 44444. The service will be followed by a celebration of her life.

She will be laid to rest alongside her parents in Newton Falls Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the college funds of Linda’s grandchildren, Lydia and Madelynn, at 4256 Mellinger Road, Canfield, OH 44406, in her memory.
